Established in 1998 by CompTIA, the CompTIA Educational Foundation (CEF) directly impacts people’s lives, and the IT industry as a whole. The Creating Futures program was developed by the CEF to provide transitioning U.S. Veterans, individuals with disabilities, youth-at-risk and dislocated workers with the opportunity to obtain employable skills to achieve rewarding careers in the IT industry. Creating Futures differentiates itself from other training programs by working with employers to identify needs, trains individuals to fit those needs, provides on-the-job work experiences to validate their skills and builds a qualified and diverse workforce for the industry. The Creating Futures approach consists of:
- Determining employers' needs and emerging
IT trends
- Identifying candidates within underrepresented
populations
- Preparing candidates through training,
certification and work experience
- Helping to place candidates into long-term
IT jobs
The Creating Futures Program utilizes a unique “skills management solutions” approach to provide a life-long continuum of career development for individuals from under-represented populations.
